The Mountain Park Volunteer Fire Department is the recipent of wildland personal protective equipment (PPE) made available through a state-wide grant program. The department received eight (8) new wildland firefighting suits.

These wildland PPE grants are awarded to volunteer fire departments across the state. The number of grants is dependent on the amount of money available.

This year's grant funding for all of Oklahoma was approximately $19,000.Twelve (12) volunteer fire departments across the state were awarded grants for wildland firefighting gear.

The grant is made possible with money from state income tax donations, and managed by the Office of the State Fire Marshall.
